Fabric Painting

We have had lots of colour on the washing line recently.

Maria enjoyed painting her Rainbow Bag so much that I hunted out some plain white bits and pieces at Charity Shops and gave her these for her birthday.

In just the same way that she painted her bag, she transformed these.

The shorts got splattered

I think the T shirt is my favourite.
When they were dry I ironed them to set the colours, and Maria was really happy with how they turned out.

And it was all far too much fun for Venetia not to get involved. I found some plain scraps of fabric for her and she 'painted' each differently.

I'm afraid I didn't include any pictures of Maria painting tonight because I'm getting slightly worried about her lack of clothes in any painting photos, Venetia wasn't much better but at least just about respectable!

I like how the colours dripped down on this one as it dried, I think it would be good to make more of this effect.

I really like this one, it's quite subtle but effective.

We're getting close to the end of our school year over here, and the plan is to turn these pieces of fabric into a present for one of her teachers - probably in the shape of a mini quilt, so watch this space.

Back tomorrow with a photo,

Sally.

  3. Maria certainly knows how to pose for the camera. I think her hat just might be my favourite. Venetia did a beautiful job on hers. The pink swirl really caught my eye. They're lucky girls, to have a mom who encourages their creativity.
