So, to celebrate the start of the official swimming in the sea season (currently this 'season' is only an option for completely crazy children in wet suits), my brooch making took on a seaside theme:
I love sea glass but have never made anything with it so far. I've been having a browse through Pinterest to find some inspiration. What do you think of some of these makes:

Have you ever made anything with sea glass?
That's it for tonight, Sally.
It reminded me how I loved looking for sea glass when I was a little girl and I lived by the sea. Now I visit sea only in summer and it is more difficult to find any then. It is easier with drift wood, always take some home. However I just keep it in vases... These pinterest finds are great (especially the last one)!
ReplyDeleteI like that last one as well, and it doesn't look too tricky! In vases sounds good, I've been loving looking at it and picking pieces up all week just while it's been in the wooden bowl, so a simple glass vase of it with the sun shining through it sounds gorgeous. Do you make things with the driftwood or just like to collect it?
DeleteWe went sea glass hunting at crow a few weeks back but only found 2 bits! I'm hoping to upcycled the set of drawers I had in the hall by replacing the stones with sea glass and painting it a sea themed colour. Feel free to take it on as your project!!
ReplyDeleteThat sounds gorgeous, try Combe Martin, fairly near the top of the beach. There's always lots there, I think it helps having the pub right next to it!
DeleteOh, I just love sea glass and always get so excited when I find it on the beaches! I like to display it in jars on my bookshelves. The sea horse pendant is beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYour brooch is lovely...I love anything reminiscent of the sea.
I have a bag of them and I would like to make a small framed mosaic to hang in our window. But now, you've got me thinking wind chime for the garden...
ReplyDeleteYour brooch, once again, is lovely!
